In some respects, this year’s report is a reflection of the sluggish economy. Some companies have dropped out of the printer business entirely while other, larger players, have cut back on the number of printers they are offering this year. We’ve seen some consolidation among printer makers—most notably Gandinnovations, which was absorbed by Agfa, and Océ, which has become a division of Canon. Still, the quality of wide-format printers continues to improve and the variety of available printing options is fairly staggering. 

 

We’ve adapted our report to make sure you are kept current with printers that are geared to new ink technologies, including water-based latex and/or resin-based formulations, textile inks and much more.
