BIG INK Display Graphics, Eagan Minn., announces that it has been given a Sustainability Award from SGIA. The first-ever award of it’s kind from the trade association allows specialty imaging companies to be recognized for the steps they’ve taken toward developing a sustainable business ethic and incorporate initiatives into their corporate culture. To qualify BIG INK submitted a copy of their sustainability policy, which includes three areas: 1) Internal Initiatives like using T-8 energy efficient lighting and recycling scrap materials in production and paper throughout the office; 2) Customer Initiatives like offering more sustainable substrates and printing methods and providing a Zero Waste Recycling Take Back program, which allows clients to send back items for recycling; and 3) Industry Initiatives like writing articles for industry publications about the company’s practices, to encourage others to follow.
