Cruise Ship Installs Digital Signage Network

British cruise line company P&O Cruises, has installed a new integrated digital signage network on board the Azura, the newest ship in the company’s luxury fleet. The state-of-the-art digital signage network from Beaver Solutions, Hertfordshire, UK, includes an 8.2-meter (323”) LED “SeaScreen” which hangs above a pool on the deck level.
Beaver Solutions designed, implemented and manages the mobile network, which is built on the Scala’s Scala 5 software platform. Beaver was challenged to create a comprehensive, completely integrated network that could input various sources of content and redistribute it appropriately to dozens of displays throughout the 19 decks of the 300-meters-long ship.
There are 45 high-definition LCD and plasma displays (19” to 80”) located throughout the ship, including reception areas, shops and restaurants. Multiple 103” plasma screens are grouped together to create a dramatic audio-video wall that displays iconic wonders from every continent in the world.
