Large format digital equipment maker Screen (USA), Rolling Meadows, Ill., a wholly owned subsidiary of Kyoto, Japan-based Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd., announces that Franklin Imaging, a print provider in Columbus, Ohio, has acquired a Screen Truepress Jet2500UV 98”-wide grand-format UV-curing hybrid inkjet printer with the ability to print up to seven image layers without feeding the media a second time through the machine.
For Franklin Imaging, multilayer printing gives the 30-employee digital imaging specialist lucrative market opportunities in high-impact print applications.
“We wanted to upgrade our printing capabilities to reduce our turnaround times and improve quality,” says Emily Williamson, president of Franklin Imaging. “Multilayer printing is one of several great features with the Truepress Jet2500UV that will take our company to the next level.”
Coming from a reprographic printing background, Franklin Imaging launched its large-format color business three years ago. When it was time to upgrade from its first direct-to-substrate flatbed printer, Franklin Imaging spent more than 18 months researching comparative inkjet systems before finally settling on the Truepress Jet2500UV.
