Wide format printer manufacturer and ink producer Fujifilm North America, Valhalla, N.Y., announces that wide format graphics producer Creative Big Print, Shelby N.C., has increased its available production time after converting its solvent printers to Fujifilm’s Color+ inkjet inks.
“Since we converted to the Color+ inks, we have gained almost a full hour of production per shift by the reduction in the need to purge the print heads,” says Donnie Green, operations manager for Creative Big Print. “All of the colors are richer and more vibrant. The black is much denser, which has allowed us to significantly dial it back on our profiles. We were really impressed by the technicians who converted our equipment, their knowledge of the hardware, and the software was truly impressive.”
Creative Big Print produces billboards, banners and display graphics, and has a roster of printers including grand-format HP Scitex machines as well as other solvent-based units. By adapting the ink chemistry to precisely suit the characteristics of each inkjet device, Fujifilm’s Color + ink delivers stronger, more vibrant colors and reduces the need for print head purging and maintenance, according to Fujifilm. The Color+ inks feature Fujifilm’s proprietary MicroV fine pigment dispersion technology which is designed to reduce printhead clogging.
Fujifilm Sericol's Color+ solvent-based inks include Color+ NH Series for three-meter and larger solvent-based printers, Color+ QJ Series for solvent drum type inkjet printers, and Color+ WU for wide format printers using Epson DX4 and DX 5 printheads.
