THE NBM SHOW Concludes First-Ever Cleveland Event
By Mike Clark
THE NBM SHOW concludes its first-ever event in Cleveland as it continues a coast-to-coast tour of U.S. cities. The Ohio stop took place at Cleveland’s downtown Huntington Convention Center June 15–16.
Like other cities, the Cleveland show offered producers in industries such as sign and digital graphics, apparel decoration and awards and recognition to see new technologies from manufacturers, network with constituents, and take advantage of educational opportunities. Alongside NBM’s lineup of industry professionals, the National Network of Embroidery Professionals (NNEP) co-located at the convention center with a series of classes as part of the organization’s Embroidery & Digitizing Conference.
“The premier of our Cleveland show was a big success,” says Katie Ditallo, senior trade show sales manager for THE NBM SHOW. “The exhibit hall and education seminars were packed all day with industry professionals eager to learn and expand their business. THE NBM SHOW was very impressed with Cleveland; the city is a wonderful place to host a trade show.”
In addition to a large list of long-time exhibitors, NBM/Cleveland saw a series of first-time companies. Graffiti Caps, a local hat manufacturer and designer, created a series of new designs to showcase at NBM/Cleveland and showcased its knack for custom work. Meanwhile, USA TieDye Co. offered attendees a firsthand glimpse at its unique process of creating fabric dyeing and color customization.
“The shores of Lake Erie have been relatively untouched by trade shows for the graphics industries in recent years, despite the very high per capita number of businesses in that region,” says Dave Pomeroy, vice president of publishing and markets at NBM. “We expected a strong event, and Cleveland did not disappoint! The turnout was even better than expected, the convention center and city were absolutely beautiful, and business was brisk.”
Next up on THE NBM SHOW schedule is Long Beach, California. Being held in conjunction with WRAPSCON, the show takes place Aug. 2–4 at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, 300 East Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, California 90802.
