According to North Carolina-based Piedmont Plastics, a wholesale distributor of plastic sheet, rod, tube and film stock shapes, 2018 marks its 50th year in the plastics business.
The company opened its doors in 1968 in a single location with five employees. Today the company has more than 40 branch distribution centers located throughout North America; two film conversion centers; and a state-of-the-art thermoforming facility. It now employs more than 600 people, the company says.
“We’re very proud of our heritage, and it shows in everything we do,” says Hank Booth, CEO and a man who’s been with the company 43 years. “Over the years, our local, experienced sales representatives have developed a reputation for being the most knowledgeable in the business, and they operate with the support of our national network. We would like to thank our valued suppliers and customers for 50 years of successful business and look forward to the years ahead.”
