Irvine, California-based American Industrial Systems, a manufacturer of human-machine interface, touch-screen interfaces and industrial PC products, announces the hiring of Joe Fijak as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Fijak has been a board member of AIS since 2013 but is only now becoming part of the company’s management team. A 34-year technology industry veteran, Fijak will play a crucial role in the company’s next phase of global growth, the company says.
Earlier this month AIS announced a global strategic partnership with Ennonconn Corp., selling off 60 percent of the company to Ennoconn, which is part of the Foxconn Technology Group. AIS is now a subsidiary of the Ennonconn /Foxconn IPC Technology Group.
In his new role Fijak will serve as a senior sales management leader, focused on the company’s sales growth strategy in existing human-machine interface markets and in new industries. His background includes more than 25 years of direct display, touchscreen and embedded solutions experience. He most recently was global senior vice president of sales and marketing for Sanmina Corp.’s mechanical systems and display solution division.
Before Sanmina, Fijak was vice president of Avnet Electronics. He also served in a top management role at Reptron Electronics, and was also founding partner of technology sales and marketing firm Premier Technology Sales Inc.
"I am excited and energized to take on a leadership role with this great company and to be at the beginning stages of this next exciting chapter for AIS," says Fijak. The recent, formal strategic partnership announcement with the Ennonconn Corp. and Foxconn IPC Technology Group allows us to build upon our leadership position and grow market share and sales revenue in all global HMI, Smart touchscreen and IPC markets for the company.
