Canon and Océ Combine Print Operations

Following the acquisition of Océ by Canon in March of 2010, the firms now announce plans to combine printing operations in both Switzerland and Japan. To facilitate the Swiss combination, Canon Europa N.V., a subsidiary of Canon Inc., and Venlo, Netherlands-based Océ N.V. have reached agreement for Océ N.V. to sell 100% of Océ (Schweiz) A.G. to Canon Europa N.V. Océ (Schweiz) A.G. accounts for 3-4% of overall Océ revenues. The transaction price amounts to EUR 15.9 million. The combined Canon and Océ operation creates the largest printing presence in Switzerland.

In Japan, Océ-Japan Corp. is to become a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon Marketing Japan, a company in which Canon Inc. holds the majority of the voting rights. Océ N.V.and Canon Marketing Japan  have reached an agreement by which Océ N.V. will sell 100% of the share capital in Océ-Japan Corp. to Canon Marketing Japan Inc. Océ-Japan accounts for less than 1% of overall Océ revenues.
