Cypress, California-based Christie Digital Systems, a provider of digital video and audio solutions, announces an exclusive deal to provide in-theater advertising and promotional content to National Amusements’ theater lobbies in the U.S.
The exclusive deal will have Christie providing, through its Christie Experiential Network displays, interactive and 3D content delivered on animated digital posters and other devices in the lobbies of National Amusements’ theaters that operate in six states in the Northeast U.S.
Based in Norwood, Massachusetts, with more than 950 screens total, National Amusements operates Showcase Cinemas, Multiplex Cinemas and, in Europe, Cinema de Luxe-branded theaters. It also operates movie houses in south and Latin America.
Christie’s content will be displayed on both stand-alone units and entire walls covered with digital panels. The award-winning “Hero Wall” display will feature panels laid out in an 8-foot-high by 14-foot-wide herringbone pattern.
“Today’s tech-savvy audience demands the complete entertainment package, from the moment they step inside the lobby to the closing credits of their favorite movie,” says Kevin Romano, executive vice president of Allure, a Christie company that operates the Christie Experiential Network. “Few exhibitors understand this better than National Amusements, whose agreement with CEN is part of their commitment to provide their audiences with an unforgettable movie-going experience.”
