West Chester, Ohio-based Color-Logic, a developer of color communication and software tools for a variety of special effect printing applications, announces its certification of Folex silver polyester cut sheet metallic substrate for use with the Color-Logic process on HP Indigo presses.
The Folex Group, based in Switzerland and Germany, traces its history to 1860, when its founder developed a gelatin emulsion plate. Subsequently, the company again gained fame by developing a line of X-ray plates, roll films, and cameras. In 1951, Folex expanded into graphic arts products, and in the 1990s into media for digital printing. Folex products, including a complete line of specialized films, are sold around the world.
“Folex silver polyester cut sheet metallic substrate Color-Logic samples, printed on the HP Indigo 7800 press, faithfully demonstrated all Color-Logic decorative effects,” says Color-Logic director of sales and marketing, Mark Geeves. “The Folex metallic films are used by packaging firms preparing and evaluating packaging prototypes, luxury labeling, metallic special effects (and) stickers. Based upon tests in the Color-Logic laboratories, HP Indigo press owners can confidently offer package prototype and short-run production customers Color-Logic samples prepared on Folex films.”
