Laska is currently chairman of The Signage Foundation’s board of trustees and has served in various other leadership roles for that organization, including serving as chairman of the program committee and chairman of the planning committee for the annual National Signage Research & Education Conference. He was responsible for initiating and championing the foundation’s internship program and sponsored the first internship in 2010.
He has also served in leadership roles with other sign-oriented organizations.
“I love what I do and I truly love the industry,” Laska says in the announcement of his award. “What is special about this award is that it comes from your peers, the people you work with, and even compete with.”
Laska’s late father, Vic, was given the same Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987.
