This featured project comes to us from Fairfield, California, which just happens to be the home of both Travis Air Force Base and Jelly Belly—yes, that Jelly Belly, world-famous jelly bean manufacturers. Maybe not quite as famous but just as important to the community is the Western Sign Co., which has been taking care of business in this northern California town since 1971. At this point it’s a third-generation, family-owned and operated sign and graphics shop that does it all.
This project is a monument sign the company did for the Vacaville Retirement Community in a nearby town. The company says is used 1/4”-thick, flat-cut acrylic characters with custom paint and peg mounts. That sign isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
