Israel-based Kornit Digital, a manufacturing company focused on the digital textile printing market, announces that it has won the silver-level Hong Kong Digital Printing award for the special material category.

Awarded by the Hong Kong Digital Printing Association, Kornit received the award for a custom printing job it did on a 100 percent polyester zipper vest. The company received the award at a ceremony on Nov. 24 hosted by the association.

The company used the Kornit Storm Hexa, a direct-to-garment printer, to tackle the often-uneven surfaces characteristic of vest zipper seams and to print artwork on the garment’s thicker density.

The printing association judged the print based on multiple criteria including originality, innovation, and impact on designers. The association holds the awards ceremony annually, dating back to 2003.
