Billed for many years as the commercial graphic industry’s only event that encompasses the disciplines of sign making and digital printing, apparel decorating, and awards and engraving—all under one roof—The NBM Show along with Digital Art Solutions, the show’s exclusive Legacy Partner sponsor for 2011, launched the 2011 season in Austin, Texas in late March. The event forges even further ahead with a program that pulls out the stops when it comes to providing the tools for success.
“Exhibitor space was up by nearly 10 percent and most of the attendees were new shops and people not typically attending the event in Fort Worth,” says Laurie Thiel, director of event sales for The NBM Show.
In addition to hundreds of booths and thousands of products, the event featured an extensive education and seminar program, and a drawing where 15 lucky participants were each awarded $500 in cash vouchers to spend with exhibiting companies. Friday morning featured lively panel discussions that were moderated by the editors of NBM’s graphic publications: Ken Mergentime, Sign & Digital Graphics; Steve Wieber, Awards & Engraving; and Emily Andre, Printwear. The show also featured a new program called Education Station where participating exhibitors used allotted booth space for free in-depth classes taught right on the show floor.
Attendees at the keynote luncheon were also able to meet some of The NBM Show staff members. Others waited to relax and network Friday evening during After Hours, when hors d’oeuvres and cocktails were served up with genuine live Austin music performed in the background.
