THE NBM SHOW kicks off its 2017 trade show lineup February 16-18 with a visit to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where National Business Media and Graphics of the Americas (GOA) have co-located their shows in order to reach out to different markets. The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center will host three days of networking, education, and the latest technology, products and services from more than 200 exhibiting companies in both THE NBM SHOW and GOA’s markets. This will be the first time THE NBM SHOW has co-located a trade show.
“The decision to co-locate THE NBM SHOW with Graphics of the Americas in 2017 was made with our exhibitors and attendees in mind,” says Dave Pomeroy, NBM’s vice president of publishing and markets. “This is a partnership that will bring something unique, something complementary and something different to each event. GOA and THE NBM SHOW are events that each stand strong on their own, but together they offer a whole that is larger than the sum of its parts.”
THE NBM SHOW serves the markets covered by three of National Business Media’s magazines—Sign & Digital Graphics, A&E and Printwear—and is held at several venues throughout the country each year, drawing thousands of attendees in the sign and digital graphics, awards and recognition and apparel decorating markets.
GOA caters to graphics industry professionals from more than 72 countries, most of whom are commercial and in-plant printers in digital, offset, inkjet, flexo and specialty printing.
“This was really appealing in that nature because the markets, while related, are different,” Pomeroy explains. “We feel that GOA attendees are going to have a lot of interest in the items on display at THE NBM SHOW. It just works really well both ways.”
The co-located trade show will host three days of Training in the Hall and Training in the Classroom presented by industry professionals.
Two full-day workshops will be held on Wednesday, February 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., presented by Equipment Zone and Rowmark LLC. Equipment Zone’s workshop will instruct its participants on Being Successful with Epson Direct-to-Garment (DTG) Printers—a course geared toward owners and those interested in purchasing an Epson machine. Rowmark’s workshop, Discovery Days, takes attendees through an all-day training experience on using lasers, sublimation and UV-LED printing.
THE NBM SHOW’s Training in the Classroom schedule February 16-18 includes:
• Epilog Laser: Getting the Most from Your Investment: Laser Tips, Tricks & Techniques from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
• Trotec Laser: Lasers — Learn. Leverage. Lead. Plus a Focus on Fiber Technology and Marking from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

THE NBM SHOW’s Training in the Hall—20 to 30 minute in-booth presentations—is offered by select exhibitors throughout the show. One of these sessions will be presented by Hirsch Solutions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Hirsch’s presentation, See How Easy Direct-to-Garment Printing Can Be with a Brother GT-3, will be held at booth 2713.
