Denver-based PrintReleaf, a software company that connects commercial printers with global reforestation projects, announces a new partnership with Fremont, California-based EFI, a maker of printers and printing software.
PrintReleaf guarantees, through its software and certified ecosystem, to plant a number of trees corresponding to the amount of paper used in a printing project. Under the partnership, PrintReleaf will provide its reforestation service directly to commercial printing businesses that purchase EFI technology.
Although not integrated today, EFI is looking to work with PrintReleaf to determine the best options for future integration to one or more of their Productivity Software Suites.
“EFI is pleased to collaborate with PrintReleaf on ecologically responsible efforts that help sustain the environment,” says Jeffrey White, general manager of EFI’s small and medium business segment for EFI Productivity Software. “We will continue to look for ways to help print companies achieve that in a relatively affordable manner. Over time, we look forward to opportunity to use PrintReleaf as part of EFI’s market-leading business and production workflows.”
PrintReleaf’s current global reforestation projects are located in the United States, Brazil, Dominican Republic, India, Ireland, Madagascar and Mexico.
PrintReleaf claims to be the only technology platform that measures a customer’s paper usage and directly offsets it with reforestation projects. Its patented technology tracks paper consumption but also monitors PrintReleaf reforestation partners to ensure fulfillment.
