Rich Thompson of AdGraphics, Pompano Beach, Fla. USA was named the first ever FESPA Hall of Fame winner! The crown for World Print Champion 2012 was awarded in February, in Barcelona, Spain. Thompson attended the event this year in London, to pass on designation to this year’s winner. The Hall of Fame award is presented to the World's top printer, as selected by their peers. Over 6,000 votes were received for more than 400 printers in 40 countries.
The gallery of stars included the names of printers from all over the world who their colleagues hold up as inspirational role models in the print community. Nominees have pioneered a new approach or technology or demonstrated innovation in other ways. They must stand out on print skill or service, and have made a significant contribution to the industry.
FESPA is the largest international body in the industry, and this honor is the highest accolade our industry has to offer. It is a lifetime award. Once awarded, the recipient is forever acknowledged in the FESPA Hall of Fame, and will have VIP status at all industry events. There is no greater Who's Who in our industry on a global scale as this.
Duncan MacOwan, Director of FESPA said, "The caliber of the nominations we received from all over the world is awe-inspiring. There are many talented printers in our industry and to have been nominated by your peers is an amazing achievement! Just being nominated is a tremendous honor."
Thompson is a testament to the dedication, innovation, and professionalism of our global community. Winning this accolade was a proud moment for him on both a personal and professional level.
