Stratacache Announces VP of Business Development for Subsidiary Walkbase

Dayton, Ohio-based Stratacache, a digital signage and content distribution solutions provider, announces the appointment of Ben Reynolds as its vice president of business development for Walkbase, its retail-based marketing and analytics platform that the company acquired in October 2017.

In his new role, Reynolds will work closely with Stratacache’s global sales and services teams and Finland-based Walkbase’s development team on product direction, positioning and promoting the use of retail location-based analytics to better serve customers and audiences.

The announcement, Stratacache says, coincides with a Walkbase “refresh”—an update of its branding and positioning and a website redesign.

Walkbase uses in-store sensor technology to measure and analyze customer behaviors and preferences, converting them into real-time, actionable insights. These insights can then be used to personalize marketing across channels and improve store operations.

“We’ve identified a huge opportunity to help brick-and-mortar venues enable a seamless customer experience as the convergence of online and offline continues,” says Reynolds. “Walkbase technology provides offline retailers the same dynamic level of real-time data as ecommerce and is going to have a huge impact for marketers who are in a daily fight against Amazon and other e-commerce retailers.

“The Walkbase team has created a platform that gathers actionable shopper insights while delivering something that is unmatchable in online commerce—memorable in-store experiences and a concierge-level of service. We’re directly contributing to true retail transformation.”

Reynolds comes to STRATACACHE from MaxPoint Interactive, where he was senior director of retail solutions and led a cross-functional team to develop new digital measurement products for in-store retail. He will be based in Michigan but will traveling frequently to customer events and meetings, his new company says.
