Plymouth, Michigan-based laser engraving and cutting equipment maker Trotec Laser is revamping its educational offerings for 2018 with a series of laser workshops, including two coming up this week. There are three events scheduled across the country this month:
Thursday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Tukwila, Washington Courtyard by Marriott
Thursday, Jan. 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sanston, Virginia Holiday Inn
Thursday, Jan. 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Align-Rite Tool Company in Tucson, Arizona
The company says the purpose of these workshops is to provide those interested in laser engraving with the tools to make educated decisions for their businesses. Trotec experts will demonstrate the systems’ business capabilities so that new users can get hands-on experience on how they can apply the equipment in their own shops.
Commenting on the changes, Trotec President Warren Knipple says, “We are uniquely positioned to help our customers build their businesses by offering a single-source option for their engraving needs, including equipment, materials, and direct manufacturer support for both. These laser workshops are the perfect place to show customers how to use our lasers and take advantage of the resources we offer to help them build their business."
Trotec has hosted open house events previously, and says that the 2018 workshops will include the same equipment demos and applications assistance but with an added educational component “that will be of interest to existing Trotec laser users.”
Trotec says, “Attendees can optimize the experience by coming with some ideas about what they want to do with the laser, and what business goals they hope to achieve by investing in a laser,” adding, “It also helps to have a general idea of production volume and materials you want to process on a laser.”
Topics will range from how to use JobControl Vision, how to use Trotec’s vision registration camera system, and how to use a rotary attachment to engrave curved surfaces.
