Plymouth, Michigan-based laser engraving and cutting equipment maker Trotec Laser will host a workshop geared toward photo engraving this Thursday, June 20. At the workshop, attendees will learn why image quality is important, how to achieve the best results with settings tips, and why different materials have different processing requirements.
“Engraving photographs onto marble, plastics, metals, woods, and other substrates is one of the most interesting and profitable things you can do with a laser system,” says David Stevens, industrial applications manager at Trotec. “However, creating a satisfactory technique can be a time-consuming trial-and-error process. Fortunately, it is possible to produce consistently good engravings given some basic knowledge of the process, and access to imaging software.”
Participating locations include Trotec’s regional service and support centers in Tucson, Arizona; Anaheim, California; Dade City, Florida; McHenry, Illinois; Plymouth, Michigan (U.S. Headquarters); and Tukwila, Washington.
An open house and product demonstrations will occur from 10 a.m. to noon, and the presentation and training is noon to 2 p.m. Attendees are not required to attend the event in its entirety and are able to come and go as they please. To speak one-on-one with local laser experts or to see live laser demonstrations, Trotec encourages attending before noon. If only interested in the presentation and training, attendees can wait to show up at noon. Light refreshments will be provided.
