The three-day event will include live installation demonstrations, classroom training opportunities and a question and answer session with some of the best installers in the world.
Returning to WRAPSCON will be “Meet the Masters,” a networking happy-hour where wrappers of all levels of expertise can get to know each other, swap war stories or ask their favorite pro for tips.
Making its debut this year will be the WRAPSCON Wrap Olympics. This multi-round elimination competition will pit 32 two-man teams against one another in a head-to-head showdown, across a number of different challenges, to determine who is the best of the best. The emcee for the event will be Albert Hatfield from Infamous Vinyl/5950 Wraps, and the judges will be Carl Brewer from The Wraps Installers; Jen Carney from Carbon Wraps; Luis Tirado from WBC Graphics; Starla Miller from Miller Decals; and Keith Vu from Savage Wraps.
“We are putting together a very dynamic floor—one that represents most of the major players in the wraps market,” says Damon Cincotta, THE NBM SHOW/WRAPSCON national trade show manager. “Many will be doing live demos in their booth and/or teaching a class. If you’re new to the wraps game or if you’ve been doing it for decades, there will be something at WRAPSCON for you.”
So far the sponsor list is as follows, with more likely to sign on:
- Platinum: Mutoh, ORAFOL, The Wrap Institute
- Gold: KPMF
- Silver: General Formulations, Montroy
“The 2017 WRAPSCON event will be held in Long Beach and I cannot be more excited,” says John Duever, president of Missouri’s Vinyl Images. “The West coast will finally get their chance to host one of the industry’s largest gatherings of like-minded people to network and get to know each other. It doesn’t matter if you are into printers or laminators, want to learn a few graphic installations tricks or care to test your skills and participate in the largest vehicle wrap competition in the U.S.A., WRAPSCON has something for everyone!”
