Xerox to Stop Taking Orders for Wide-Format Products in US and Canada

Xerox Corp. has announced that it will stop taking orders for wide-format products in the US and Canada for the remainder of 2011. According to Xerox, its European and developing market operations plan to continue selling and developing wide-format products. It also plans to continue servicing and selling supplies for existing equipment for at least five years.

The Connecticut-based document and imaging company plans to stop taking orders this year for wide-format printers, copiers and finishers in the United States and Canada.

In a statement, the firm stated that “Xerox prioritizes each investment, allocating research and development dollars to areas where the company can deliver the best value to the marketplace. As a result of this practice, Xerox has opted to not invest in wide-format product engineering in 2011."
